When?
Buddhism was created in present day Nepal, 563 B.C. or 2,500 years ago. There are no records of what Nepal was named before today's Nepal. 16 years into Siddhartha Gautama's life is when he was finally granted access to the outside world that his father kept him sheltered from in fear of him becoming what he had became.
